PNRR Young Researchers is an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research aiming to attract young researchers.

With the call 2024 the Ministry aims at financing 250 research positions for young researchers funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Fill in the form, if you want to boost your career at the University of Verona thanks to this call.

The participation in the call with the University of Verona as host institution is subject to approval by the department concerned.

Who can apply

The call is open to researchers of any nationality who meet ALL these requirements

  • have a PhD degree
  • be no more than 40 years old or no more than 45 years old and no more than 7 years from their doctorate
  • have no experience in managing grants and/or coordinating national or international research groups
  • not have had any permanent full-time contract as a researcher/tenured professor.

The call is divided into two distinct strands.

Strand MSCA Individual fellowship / Postdoctoral fellowship

This strand is dedicated to MSCA Individual fellowship / Postdoctoral fellowship grantees, whose project has been completed within 5 years before 3 July 2024.
The call provides for funding of up to € 300,000 for a three-year project.
If selected for funding, the applicant will be hired as temporary researcher (RTD-A) within 2 months from funding approval and in any case no later than 31 March 2025.

The call deadline is on 15 October 2024 (deadline extended).

Strand SOE – Seal of Excellence

This strand is dedicated to those who have received Seal of Excellence for their MSCA Postdoctoral fellowship in the last two years.
The call provides for funding of € 250,000 for a three-year project.
If selected for funding, the applicant will be hired as temporary researcher (RTD-A) within 2 months from funding approval and in any case no later than 31 March 2025.

The call is open until 19 December 2024 on a “first-come, first-served” basis, i.e. the Ministry will evaluate and finance the proposals as they are sent and until funds are exhausted.

Strand ERC Starting Grant or Consolidator Grant

A specific call is expected to be published for winners of an ERC Starting Grant or Consolidator Grant proposal, as well as for those who scored an A in the final round and were not funded.
