How to configure the Google Authenticator Mobile App for MFA authentication with TOTP codes – Android

First installation of the app

  1. Download and install the Google Authenticator app from the Play Store (you must have Android 4.4 or later to use Google Authenticator on an Android device).
  2. AOpen the app, click "start" and then select Create your first account


     
  3. Click on 'Scan QR code' and use your device's camera to scan the code generated at https://aap.univr.it/UNIVRMfaQr/qr


     
  4. When the account "UniVR_MFA\XXXX" appears, click "Add account". The first TOTP code associated with the newly created account will then appear.

If the app has already been installed

  1. Open the app, select the '+' button in the bottom right-hand corner, then click 'Add Account'.
  2. Click on 'Scan QR code' and use your device's camera to scan the code generated at https://aap.univr.it/UNIVRMfaQr/qr


     
  3. When the account "UniVR_MFA\XXXX" appears, click "Add account". The first TOTP code associated with the newly created account will then appear.

How to generate TOTP codes for authentication

  1. Open the App
  2. Select the Univr MFA account: this will display the TOTP code to be used (the icon on the right indicates the time remaining until the TOTP code expires).
