The Welcome office of the University of Verona offers a wide range of helpful services and useful information to international visiting students, administrative staff, scholars and professors.

In order to organize your arrival, you might need support in finding information about immigration procedures:

The EU Immigration Portal is a website intended for non-EU citizens who wish to migrate to the European Union. It contains up-to-date and practical information on EU and national immigration procedures, policies and entry procedures for non-Eu citizens coming to Italy.

Need further help? The ISU - International Students Union supports the University of Verona Welcome Office in assisting international guests before arrival and during their stay in Verona. Every international student/guest might get in contact with ISU in order to be supported in:

  • requesting the Italian tax identification code (“codice fiscale”);
  • searching for accommodation in private flats;
  • submitting the permit of stay request;
  • register with the National Health System or get private health insurance.

Before arrival

If you have been invited to spend a mobility period at the University of Verona as a Visiting Professor/Researcher, you'll receive an e-mail containing all instructions to complete a registration form before your arrival.

Personal data retention criteria for managing the "Visiting Registry" are available in the privacy notice. By collecting the data hereby requested before your arrival, we will be able to provide you with access to the services offered by the university:

  • libraries, wi-fi network and information systems with restricted access;
  • Italian language courses offered by the Language Centre;
  • university canteens.
  • reimbursement/salary.

Italian language courses

The University Language Centre (CLA) organises Italian language courses - Italian L2 to develop language and intercultural skills and facilitate their inclusion in the Italian academic environment.
Learning activities are organized as follows:

  • exchange and degree-seeking students: daytime and onsite courses;
  • international visitors and PhD students: evening and online courses.

Canteen services

The University canteen are managed by ESU Verona.

Housing options

Italian Universities do not generally have a campus. International students can find accommodation in Verona at the ESU student residences or in private flats to be shared with other students. Discover more

Visiting PhD Students, Researchers and Professors are warmly recommended to book their accommodation in Verona well before their arrival due to the high demand for short-term housing options and limited availability.
The University offers the possibility to rent a single room with an en-suite bathroom at the "Don Mazza" University Residences "Don Mazza" University Residences.
