Federico Leoni

Introduction

Federico Leoni is a researcher of moral philosophy at the Department of Human Sciences. His work focuses on philosophical anthropology. Among his research interests: the relationship between philosophy, psychiatry, and psychoanalysis between the 19th and 20th centuries; the question of subjectivation in modern and contemporary philosophy; the unconscious as a philosophical and psychoanalytic question; the question of the body and the archaeology of some of the Western forms of knowledge which studied and shaped it. More generally, He is interested in the overall question concerning the permanence and decisive influence of some classical metaphysical problems on the project of contemporary human sciences and the way in which they are restructuring our experience: the questions of the “One”, of power, time, the body, multiplicity, the trace, and of expression. The authors at the center of both his research and his lectures are René Descartes, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Nietzsche, Henri Bergson, Ludwig Binswanger, Martin Heidegger, Jean-Paul Sartre, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, and Jacques Lacan. I am the co-editor of the international journal “Chiasmi”, centered on Merleau-Ponty’s thought, published by Mimesis (Milan) and Vrin (Paris); of the series “Phi/Psy” published by Orthotes (Salerno); of the Italian journal LETTERa, published by the Associazione Lacaniana Italiana di Psicoanalisi.
