Portuguese language course - Foreign languages and literatures

Portuguese language course - Literacy level 

1st semester 2024-2025 

Students of the Master's and Bachelor's degree programmes in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures are notified that registration for the Portuguese Language (Brazilian variant) - literacy level course will be open from August 26 to September 18, 2024. The application must be submitted online, through Esse3, under “Initiatives.” There are 40 available seats and at least an 80% attendance is required to be eligible to the final exam. Upon passing the exam, the following will be recognized: 

• 3 CFUs F and 3 CFUs D will be recognized to students in the LM38 Master's degree programme (see 2.6.2 of the Student Handbook for details)
• 6 CFUs D will be recognized to students in L12, L11 ED, L11 ED-DH, L11 LLS, LM37 degree programmes.

CFUs will be recorded, regardless of type, as eligibility (no grade in thirtieths).  

The list of admitted students will use the following selection criteria:

1. priority to students in the LM38 master's degree programme, followed by all other degree programmes in the Language area 
2. grade point average (GPA) and in the case of a tie (ex-aequo), the number of CFUs earned will be the deciding factor (for first-year students of master's degrees, the grade of the bachelor's degree will be decisive). 

Students who intend to graduate in the November 2024 or March-April 2025 sessions (academic year 2023-24) and those who have already earned CFUs in their bachelor’s or master's degree for the same language ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION. 

The course will start on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, according to the published class schedule. The list of selected students will be published by Monday, September 23, 2024. Only the selected students will be allowed to participate in the course.
